Interior Health is seeking an experienced Rural & Remote Adult Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician to join us for a relief full time position based in Williams Lake, B.C working with the Ulkatcho First Nation Community. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and counselling skills and possess a human caring and relationship centred approach to practice.
The Interior Health Mental Health & Substance Use Services’ purpose is to restore, preserve and promote good mental health through sustainable and accountable practices. At Williams Lake Community Mental Health and Addictions there are 14.5 positions that include nurses, mental health clinicians, doctors, and one psychiatrist. Five programs are offered: life skills, chronic mentally ill, short term mentally ill, addictions, and a disenfranchised with addictions/mental health issues.
The Rural and Remote Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician is a generalist position in that works with all of the above populations. Primary job duties include, at the advanced practice level, intake assessment, crisis intervention, referral, case management, short term individual and group psychotherapy, psychogeriatric support, collaborative community planning, psycho-education with clients and their families, and liaison with appropriate professionals.
Shifts of work will be Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30 with weekends and statutory holidays off. This relief position is scheduled to end SEP 16, 2021 or return of the incumbent.

Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.
Two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current valid BC driver’s license.
