Position Summary

Set in the heart of the Frontier, amid lakes and rolling ranch land, Williams Lake is nestled in a beautiful valley in the centre of the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional District in the interior of British Columbia. A population of 11,150 within the city and 25,120 in the neighbouring area combine to create an immediate service area of 29,504. Take advantage of the four seasons in Williams Lake with lots of outdoor recreation. The area and the city offer many amenities including golfing, fine dining, recreational parks, in close proximity to numerous recreational lakes, winter recreation such as x-country and downhill skiing, world-class scenic rivers and horseback tours, and competitive trails for cyclists. This mixture of frontier charm and urban living can't be beat.

Deni House, located in Williams Lake, is a 28-bed unit with 19 long term care beds and nine short stay beds. Short stay beds are broken down as two palliative,three respite and four convalescent.

The priority for the Rehabilitation Assistant will be working intensely with the short stay beds. Patient focus will be on self-management, self-care, daily activities such as dressing and getting ready in the morning, as well as exercise throughout the day. With respite patients, the Rehabilitation Assistant will provide an exercise booster in addition to simple respite activities. A strong focus will be placed on interpersonal rapport in addition to activity-focused work. An ideal candidate will be comfortable working with softer tasks and providing general emotional support to the residents.

Shifts are scheduled Monday to Friday noon to 4 pm.

Under the clinical direction of a Therapist, the Rehabilitation Assistant functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the client. We are seeking a candidate with the knowledge and expertise required to effectively carry out rehabilitative treatment plans. As the Rehabilitation Assistant in this position, you will assist the Therapist in monitoring and evaluating patients/residents’ progression.

Ideal candidates will have a strong sense of autonomy and soft skills; plus an ability to be flexible and work within a new program that will be under continuous development. We are seeking an adventurous and highly-motivated team player to join our team.


Education, Training and Experience:
Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
Valid Driver's License.
