We are looking for a relief full time Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to join our team at the Cariboo Memorial Hospital!
As the PCC for our busy combined medical surgical and obstetrical units, you will be responsible for the coordination of day to day operations and quality patient care. This is a very busy 20 bed acute medical-surgical unit, co-located with 5 obstetrical beds. The unit supports 6 specialists and has a high patient turnover with an average length of stay of 4 days.
PCC responsibilities include:
• Supporting/coordinating the seamless movement of patients through the healthcare system and in accessing appropriate resources.
• Supervising staff, as well as serving as a role model and a resource to staff for clinical decision-making, clinical assessments of patients and in the counseling and education of families.
• Reviewing, analysing and making recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures and standards of patient care and adequate staffing levels.
• Developing and maintaining a continuous quality improvement environment.
• Liaising with the interdisciplinary team for identification, coordination and efficient utilization of resources as well as planning for staff educational needs.
This is a relief full-time opportunity position until approximately JUNE 2019 or the return of the current incumbent. Days of work are rotating and hours of work are 08:47 – 20:00.

*Due to Collective Agreement pay scale adjustments, effective April 1, 2019, the pay scale is now $41.72 - $50.77**
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP). Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area, three years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment and two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current CPR certification required.
