Position Summary |
Interior Health invites applications for the role of Medical Device Reprocessing Technician. Interior Health is looking for Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians knowledgeable in the detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies/instruments for various areas of the hospital, picking surgical cases and performing other duties associated with the clerical and record keeping. Southern Interior of BC Locations: • 100 Mile House & District Hospital | 100 Mile House • Penticton Regional Hospital | Penticton • Kelowna General Hospital | Kelowna • Vernon Jubilee Hospital | Vernon • Royal Inland Hospital | Kamloops • Cariboo Memorial Hospital | Williams Lake • Shuswap Lake General Hospital | Salmon Arm • Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital | Trail • Kootenay Lake Hospital | Nelson • Elk Valley Hospital | Fernie • East Kootenay Regional Hospital | Cranbrook • Creston Valley Hospital | Creston Vacancy Types: Regular Full-time, Regular Part-time, Temporary and Casual positions are available Schedule: Majority of hospitals operate 7 days a week | 24 hours a day. Some MDR Departments run Monday to Friday. An employee in a full time position is working 37.5 hour per week (exclusive of meal times). Base shift will be 7.5 hours and Rotations: Days, Evenings, or Nights. Wages & Benefits: A competitive remuneration and excellent career prospects await the right candidates. Qualifications |
Education, Training and Experience: Grade 12, successful completion of Sterile Processing Course, plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Skills and Abilities: • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. • Mathematical aptitude. • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. • Ability to organize work. • Ability to operate related equipment. • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology. |
