We are seeking Rehabilitation Assistants to join our cohesive team. Shifts are rotating and scheduled during the Day. Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
What Will You Work On?
You will be part of a team of clinicians working across the spectrum in Long-Term Care, Acute Care and Community. We have a variety of units within each of those settings, including slow stream rehab, dementia units, general seniors care, medical, surgical, rehab, and quick response and community services.
How Will You Create Impact?
The support you will provide to the clients in your work area will aid the therapists to provide better individualized care ad assessment for each client. The client’s interventions will be much more robust, meaningful and effective with your support.
How Will We Help You Grow?
All new staff are assigned mandatory learning through our online system. In addition there are many other courses available to staff online. There are often in-person or remote courses offered through external sources. All staff are mentored by those on their team and have available support through their Professional Practice Leader. As well as the larger Rehabilitation team.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for staff who are willing to be flexible and accountable member of our department that covers the large geographic area of the North Okanagan. You will be available at minimum three days per week. Even though this is a Casual position, there is plenty of work to keep you busy. Training and mentorship is provided so part experience is less important than have a great attitude and being a team player.
Note: Any position that is required to enter a LTC/AL facility to provide services, the successful candidate of that position will be subject to the PHO Order regarding mandatory vaccination.
• Completion of a recognized, two-year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
• Valid Driver’s License as required.
