Position Summary

Are you a PARR nurse who is easy-going, adaptable, and enjoys working as part of a team? If yes, then we have an exciting nursing opportunity for you within our team here at Vernon Jubilee Hospital’s Post Anesthetic Recovery Room!

Vernon Jubilee Hospital has a busy surgical services department. Services provided vary from Daycare Surgery to Critical Care, Inpatient/Outpatient, Elective/Urgent and Emergency services. The patient population spans from pediatric to the elderly. The VJH PARR department has a team atmosphere with solid leadership. There is excellent support from the Patient Care Coordinator, the Educator and the Manager.

VJH has a new Peri-Operative Services department includes five new integrated OR theatres. The OR’s are supported by a brand new Pre-Surgical Screening area, Surgical Day Care area, 10 monitored Recovery Bays and a Medical Device Reprocessing area. An additional 2 OR’s are shelled in for future capacity. PARR nurses work 8 hour shifts on days and evenings.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).

Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (perianesthesia or critical care nursing) and one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on a post anesthetic room or critical care environment similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
