The Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is in the Okanagan health service area and responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to patients throughout its service area. Located in Vernon, between Kelowna and Kamloops, VJH offers services including core physician specialties, 24 hour emergency and trauma services, acute and obstetrical care.
In 2016, Interior Health’s inpatient bed expansion completed with a bew patient care tower which added a total of 231,000 square feet of space to Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Several Programs and services have been consolidated and modernized to improve health service delivery and include expanded Emergency and Ambulatory Care departments, new Intensive Care and Coronary Care units, new larger Operating Rooms, and a new Women’s and Children’s Health Services department to name a few.
The brand new Peri-Operative Services Department includes five new integrated OR theatres. The OR’s are supported by a brand new Pre-Surgical Screening area, Surgical Day Care area, 10 monitored Recovery Bays and a Medical Device Reprocessing area. An additional 2 OR’s are shelled in for future capacity. The case cart system is now in place and RNs work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with call on weekends.
Our Casual pool of OR RNs is low and needs new talent to come and join the team. The Perioperative teams consists of RNs and LPNS who are a tight knit team and lead Interior Health in efficiency.

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
• Perioperative Certification.
• One year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility is preferred.
