Interior Health is seeking a Relief Part Time LPN/ Orthopaedic Technologist for Vernon Jubilee Hospital Emergency Department.
In accordance with the vision and values of the organization and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse-Orthopaedic Technician performs assessments, plans, implements, and provides nursing care to patients attending Vernon Jubilee Hospital’s Emergency Room Minor Treatment/Streaming Department.
Under the direction and supervision of Physicians and Registered Nurses this position provides orthopaedic care by performing duties such as assessing and evaluating patient condition; reviewing x-rays to confirm plan of care; applying casts and splints; removing externally exposed pins, wires, staples and sutures; setting up traction equipment and performs related orthopaedic duties.
Vernon Jubilee Hospital’s ER is a fantastic place to work; it’s fast paced with many opportunities to learn from others and on the job, such as stepping in and helping with codes, ECGs, the Ears/Nose/Throat room, etc.
Shifts of work will be days and evenings, 09:00 to 17:00, and 14:00 to 22:00
This position offers the specialty trained LPN Orthopaedic Technician a 100 percent employer paid benefits package and generous vacation entitlement. There is opportunity to provide coverage above the shifts of this position in Vernon Jubilee Hospital’s Ortho Clinic where Surgeons are offering services.

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses plus completion of recognized training in Orthopaedic Technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current full practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of B.C. (CLPNBC) required. Please include your registration number.
• Current CPR certification required.
**Only applicants who are licensed LPNs that have also graduated from a recognized Orthopaedic Technology program will be shortlisted.
