We are presently hiring and looking for new team members to join our Dietetic Department at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Preferred candidates will have current registration with the College of Dietitians of BC and have completed (or willing to complete) the requirements for Restricted Activities A (Enteral Means), B (Parenteral Means) and C (Eternal Means).
As a Casual Clinical Dietitian the main focus will be in Acute Care (i.e. medical and surgical units, women and children’s health, and intensive care unit).
Additional Casual coverage for the Clinical Dietitian will be available in Vernon’s Long Term Care facilities (e.g. Polson Place, Gateby Care Facility, Noric House, Pleasant Valley Manor (Armstrong, BC) and Parkview Place (Enderby, BC), and Home Health Services aka Home Health Services, Chronic Disease Management).
This is a great opportunity for a Clinical Dietitian to gain experience in a number of different areas and work to full scope of practice. Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Clinical Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absences; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position.
Casual employees receive 12.6% of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, Casual employees have the option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
The North Okanagan Dietetic Department consists of 10 Clinical Dietitians working with Acute Care, Diabetes Management, Home Health and Outpatients/Eating Disorders. The team is extremely supportive with a strong focus on patient-centred care and best practice. We are looking for new team members who are willing to be flexible and have ability to work collaboratively yet independently.

• Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
• Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program.
• Registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
• One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
