Position Summary |
Put your perinatal nursing skills into full motion and join the passionate and welcoming nursing staff at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, in the beautiful community of Trail. KBRH is looking for a self-directed, motivated and reliable nurse who wants to work alongside a strong team to expand their nursing practice and skills set. We support ongoing cross training between maternity, peds and nursery as we are a combined unit. We incorporate a Family Obstetrics Clinic within our department and our supportive team of physicians, nurses and midwife provide prenatal support to expectant Mom’s throughout their pregnancy so that when they are ready to deliver, we have an established relationship with them and they are familiar with our department and facility. After our new Mom’s leave our facility, we offer outpatient support for them and their babies in collaboration with Public Health. We have an active maternity unit where our nurses cover labour & delivery, postpartum and nursery caring for neonates greater than or equal to 34 weeks gestation. We see about 250 deliveries a year in our newly renovated maternity/pediatric ward and our nurses work 12 hour shifts with a bonus of optional on-call shifts available at overtime rates. This is a casual position. Shifts are rotating, and hours of work at 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00. ** Please upload copies of you perinatal specialty certificate and your NRP, CPR and FHS certificates per the requirements of this position. ** Community: Trail is situated on the Columbia River in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. Qualifications |
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP). Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience. Current Fetal Health Surveillance. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) within 2 years. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years. We invite applicants to self-identify as First Nation, Métis or Inuit within cover letters and/or resumes.
