Our Laboratory team is currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Operations Supervisor, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Grade V based at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital located in the community of Trail, B.C.

The Operations Supervisor works in a team based environment and is charged with the supervision of laboratory staff and coordination of daily activities for designated laboratory sites. This includes supervision and implementation of Interior Health policies and procedures in the Core Lab including Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine and Accessioning/Specimen Procurement at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Lab as well as three off-site collection locations.

The Operations Supervisor provides technical guidance to the team of Medical Lab Assistants and Medical Lab Technologists in conjunction with the designated Professional Practice Leader (PPL) and Technical Specialists and is responsible for providing mentoring, coaching and facilitating workplace solutions and promoting continuous learning amongst staff. The Operations Supervisor works closely with the PPL and Technical Specialists, to coordinate the implementation of processes and procedures, standards, goals and objectives and ensures consistency within Interior Health and that accreditation and safety standards are maintained.

This is a permanent full-time position, hours of work are 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday with Saturday, Sunday and stat holidays off. Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Science training program with current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS.
Minimum of five (5) years recent, related experience including three (3) years leadership experience supplemented by completion of approved management course or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
