Are you a certified Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Technician looking for a new opportunity? The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is currently seeking MDR Techs to join the team!
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position performs a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and instruments for various areas of the hospital; and performs related clerical duties and record keeping.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. Days of work may fall within Mondays to Sundays and shifts scheduled during the Day and Evenings.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing course,
• One year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
• Mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
