Interior Health’s Summerland Health Centre invites applications for the role of Day Care Surgery Registered Nurse (RN). If you are an experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse with interest in joining the team at Summerland Health Centre we invite you to apply to our Casual opening.
Summerland Health Centre is a small and very efficient perioperative unit that provides quality care for day surgery procedures. With two Operating Rooms, Summerland Health Centre offers surgical services including Pediatric and Adult Dental, ENT, and Ophthalmology.
Summerland Health Centre Day Care Surgery operates Monday to Friday. Shifts when available will be on a rotating basis. Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absence; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Casual employees will receive 12.6% of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and paid holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (perioperative nursing) and one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility.
