Shuswap Lake General Hospital (SLH) is seeking to expand its Respiratory Team and is inviting applications from Respiratory Therapists (RTs) interested in Casual employment.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Shifts will include a mix of weekdays, weekends, days, and on-call. Some shifts will be pre booked and some will be short notice. Opportunity to apply for Regular employment positions within the Internal Recruitment job posting process.
What Will You Work On?
Our staff support all areas, adding variety and experience. We provide Respiratory Therapy services in a multi-disciplinary setting for a variety of patient illness and diseases. You will be instrumental in growing our roll, as we have newly expanded services.
How Will You Create Impact?
You will be part of a team that provides a high level of care to our patients. Our roll at SLH is diverse; you will work both independently and part of the larger interdisciplinary team. The pandemic has allowed our team to shine. It is an amazing time to be an RT.
How Will We Help You Grow?
ACLS/PALS/NRP/BLS provided. Orientation will be customized to each new Respiratory Therapist’s needs. You will receive on going mentorship from all staff and the Professional Practice Leader (PPL). You will be encouraged to attend conferences as well as on going training. The ability to work in all areas of Respiratory at one site, within a supportive, inclusive team focused environment.
Who Are We Looking For?
An independent, passionate, team player that wants to grow themselves, the department, and the profession. Organized, with the ability to prioritize in coming work. Strong communication skills, life long learner.
• Graduation from a recognized Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current certification with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and eligible for registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and CSRT.
• Recent acute/critical care experience.
• Current valid BC Driver’s License.
