Multiple Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) opportunity now available in Salmon Arm, B.C!
Shuswap Lake Hospital is a small 40-bed Level 2 acute care Hospital in the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap health service area. Located in Salmon Arm, B.C the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient, obstetrics and 24-hour emergency. Our acute care caseload is quite varied and we are a smaller STAT Lab, which allows for a great learning environment. Our MLTs rotate through Chemistry, Hematology/Coag, Transfusion Medicine and the Manual bench, processing blood, urine, body fluids and CSFs on site.
As the Laboratory Technologist you will work independently within our supportive and cohesive team environment, providing vital Lab services to both inpatients and outpatients from the Salmon Arm community and surrounding areas.
Typical duties include: routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.
This permanent part time line is a float position. Shifts are days/evenings/nights 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00, 12:00 to 20:00, 14:30 to 22:30, 16:00 to 23:59, 23:30 to 07:30.

• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
