Casual employment includes being available for short-notice, on-call; workload coverage during temporary absences; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Days and shifts may vary with hours 08:00 to 16:00 or 08:30 to 16:30. Once hired into a casual position, employees become eligible to apply internal on relief and permanent positions as they become vacant. Upon completion of 180 hours in Casual employment, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
Social Workers provide comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, Social Workers provide direct psychosocial care, counselling and group work, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management.
Casual Social Workers may be deployed to work shifts within PRH, South Okanagan Long-term Care facilities and/or Home Health Services. Having knowledge of the Health Care (Consent) and Care Facilities (Admissions) Act and Adult Guardianship Act is an asset.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
• Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
• Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
• Current valid BC driver’s license.
