Multi-site Medical Laboratory Assistant position now available in the sunny South Okanagan, BC!
The Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of duties within the Laboratory such as taking blood samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to Laboratory departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties. Performs ECG testing as required.
This is a multi-site position. The successful applicant will be based primarily at the Penticton Regional Hospital Lab and the rotation also requires providing Lab Assistant services at the nearby sites of Summerland Health Centre and the South Similkameen Health Centre in Keremeos, as per a set schedule.
This is a relief part-time (0.53fte) position. Days of work are rotating and shifts include day, evening and night shifts which are a mixture of 4hr and 7.5hr shifts.

Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Ability to type 25 WPM *please upload a copy of an invigilated typing test dated within the last 24mths. Please note we do not accept self-administered online tests*
