The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides: nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team; enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers; demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice; maintains and advances own clinical competence; participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.
• Sunnybank Retirement Centre is located in Oliver, embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. This facility is one-storey with 51 single rooms with ensuite washrooms. There are four wings, which include 6 convalescent beds and 2 short stay beds.
• McKinney Place Extended Care is a one-storey facility with 75 private, semi-private and four-bed ward rooms with ensuite washrooms. Our resident-centered philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible.
The days of work for this position are Days and the shift times are from 07:00 to 15:00 hours.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Graduation as a Registered Nurse from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
