Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking a Professional Practice Leader to lead the Clinical Dietitian Services within the Kootenay Boundary Region of Interior Health (IH).

Encompassing a team of 10 clinical dietitians spread across the Kootenay Boundary, this portfolio oversees the distinct dietetic community programs of chronic disease management, diabetes education, renal and eating disorders in addition to acute and long term care Dietitian Services.

Reporting to the Manager of Allied Health, for the Kootenay Boundary this position provides leadership and representation for the Kootenay Boundary Clinical Dietitian Services and is responsible for the administration, supervision, planning and budgeting of the assigned portfolio. The Professional Practice Leader is responsible for interpreting and implementing all organizational regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to the Dietitian team and for ensuring that standards for the profession are consistent with regulatory/accrediting body standards and relevant legislation.

The Professional Practice Leader contributes to the development of the profession via the IH Professional Practice Council for Dietitians, the IH Dietitians Team and the IH Kootenay Boundary group of Allied Health Professional Practice Leaders.

Travel is involved in this role to outlying areas. A valid BC Driver’s License is necessary. Access to a personal vehicle is required.

Qualifications

Qualifications: You will have completed a recognized degree from an accredited Dietetic program; recent five (5) years' clinical practice including a minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory or management experience in Dietetics; current registration with the College of Dietitians of BC; and hold a valid Driver’s license.
