If you have great communication and problem solving skills, and have nursing experience in a rural environment, we have a great career opportunity that is based in Nakusp.
The PCC is responsible for the coordination of day to day operations and quality patient care within a designated clinical area(s). This position supports the seamless movement of patients through the healthcare system and in accessing appropriate resources. The PCC supervises as well as serves as a role model and a resource to staff for clinical decision-making, clinical assessments of patients and in the counseling and education of families. Reviews, analyses and makes recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures and standards of patient care, adequate staffing levels, and a continuous quality improvement environment. Liaises with the interdisciplinary team for identification, coordination and efficient utilization of resources as well as plans for staff educational needs.
Nakusp is a busy summer area and is on a popular motorcycle route. In the winter, the area provides lots of heli-skiing and snowmobiling. The logging industry is the major employer in the area. This picturesque area, with its mountains and back woods country as well as many local lakes/rivers, is gaining popularity as an early retirement destination for people interested in enjoying the outdoors all year round.

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, advanced preparation in the emergency specialty, three years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment and two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
Current CPR certification required.
