Position Summary |
Interior Health is seeking a dynamic permanent full time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Merritt, B.C. The Nurse Practitioner for Merritt and area will provide full-scope primary health care services to unattached individuals in order to improve accessibility. The practice has a focus on Aboriginal populations as Merritt is surrounded by five reserves – Lower Nicola Indian Band (LNIB), Upper Nicola Indian Band (UNIB), Nooaitch, Shackan, and Coldwater. The Nurse Practitioner provides outreach clinics to LNIB, UNIB, and Nicola Valley Institute of Technologies monthly. While being in solo practice, the clinician collaborates with various community agencies, surrounding aboriginal communities, and multidisciplinary health services in the delivery of comprehensive, holistic patient centered health care that is delivered in a culturally safe manner. The nurse practitioner practice is located at Conayt Friendship Society where community services are available for Aboriginal individuals living off reserve such as housing support, alcohol and drug counselling, children and family development programs. Qualifications |
Education, Training and Experience: • Current registration and exam qualified as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) • Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) • Recent, relevant clinical nursing experience • Valid Driver's License. |
