Position Summary

The Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre is a Community Hospital offering services that include 24 hour emergency, lab and x-ray. Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre has a small perioperative program with one operating room theatre and one scope room. Surgical services provided here include C-section, simple hernias, carpal tunnel, simple gynecological procedures, gastroscopies and colonoscopies.

We are seeking to hire a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre’s perioperative program. This position offers permanent two days per week work (i.e. Thursdays and Fridays).

The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician performs a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and instruments for the hospital; and performs related clerical duties and record keeping.

Education, Training and Experience:
Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing course, plus one year’s recent related experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
• Mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
