Position Summary

We are currently seeking a casual Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Orchard Haven at the South Similkameen Health Center in Keremeos.

Orchard Haven is located adjacent to the South Simlkameen Health Centre in Keremeos. It is a one-level care home with 35 private rooms with ensuite washrooms, including a 10 bed dementia care unit. Our resident-centered philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible.

The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides: nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team; enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers; demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice; maintains and advances own clinical competence; participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned. Shifts of work are rotating days; 07:00-15:00.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).

• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
