The Medical Imaging department at Kelowna General Hospital is currently seeking a Sonographer to join our team of dedicated professionals. This is a relief position available until September 2022 or the return of the current incumbent. Days of work are rotating and shift times are days and evenings.
Our department is a busy regional department within a tertiary facility and regional trauma centre. KGH is a multi-building campus with Diagnostic Imaging services within several of the buildings. There are five ultrasound rooms in the main department and one room in the Emergency. Ultrasound operates 7 days a week (07:30 to 22:00 hours) with on-call until midnight. This position works rotating day and evening shifts.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures/examinations and related duties working in collaboration with radiologists/cardiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.

All of our sites are connected through our regional Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) integrated into our single Electronic Health Record providing real-time patient histories anywhere within Interior Health. We have clinical advisory groups that are working together to ensure best practice throughout Interior Health.

• Graduate of a recognized/accredited North American Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
• Current certification with Sonography Canada as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Generalist and/or Cardiac) and/or current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as required for the assigned practice area (such as, Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Cardiac, and/or Vascular).
• Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
