We are seeking a Registered Nurse who has strong acute medical experience, exceptional clinical and critical thinking skills and the adaptability and enthusiasm to excel in the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (HSC1) unit.
IHSC is a 20 bed surgical unit with 4 overflow beds that supports all nature of surgeries. Predominant surgeries are Urology, general, Ortho, dental, minor vascular and plastics. We staff with RN/LPN mix both having a ratio of 4 patients per nurse. We also have a 0900-2100 float Monday to Friday along with a unit aide on these days too. The unit is also staffed with a unit clerk from 0700-2100 Monday-Friday and reduced hours on Saturday. The unit also reduces in bed capacity from 20 to 12 from Saturday night until 0700 Monday morning.
The Registered Nurse practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
This is a relief full time position until Dec 29, 2020 or return of the incumbent. Days of work are rotating, shift types are days, nights and shift times are 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00 hours.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
