This opportunity is located in Kelowna, BC, and at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH). KGH is a tertiary centre for the Southern Interior of British Columbia and a teaching hospital with a Clinical Academic Campus for the University of British Columbia Okanagan’s medical program. KGH consists of three Patient Care Towers and offers high-level specialty medical care including 24 hour emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic /para-medical services. The Interior Health Surgical Centre opened its doors in Fall 2015 with 15 brand new operating room theatres (2 cardiac, 12 regular and 1 hybrid). In total, KGH has 20 perioperative theatres.

KGH Perioperative Services operate 24/7 with nursing staff ration of three nurses per theatre (2 RN : 1 LPN). We provide a strong mentorship into the Operating Room and have a department Quality Resources Nurse, Equipment Resource Nurse and Service Specific Educators on hand to offer support.

This is a permanent, part time position with rotating schedule consisting of Days (07:30 to 15:30) and Nights (22:45 to 07:30). There will be on-call as required.

Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses with the full range of current licensed practical nursing competencies.

Graduation from an accredited perioperative program for Licensed Practical Nurses.

One (1) year recent related experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in acute care, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP.

Current CPR certification.
