Kelowna General Hospital is seeking Clinical Dietitians for Casual employment.
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures.
Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities.
The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program.
Casual employment means there are no guarantee of hours and work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6 percent of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, Casual employees have the option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
• Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
• Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
• Registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia with restricted activities A, B & C
• One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Valid BC
