Innovation is a good fit at Kelowna General Hospital! This past Summer, Prosthetics and Orthotics Services at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) received a wonderful gift of technology; an optical 3D scanner, shape modification software, and an automated mold carver courtesy of generous donors to the KGH Foundation.
KGH is seeking a Canadian Certified Orthotist for temporary, part-time opportunity starting in January 2019 until December 2019. KGH is a tertiary care hospital consisting of 380 acute care beds. It provides service in all areas including a 38 bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, Cardiac Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, General / Vascular Surgery, and various medical units. It is a Medical teaching centre for University of BC Medical staff.
This position offers a unique Orthotist experience being that it is in a hospital setting with state-of-the-art technology. KGH’s Orthotic and Prosthetic Department is a full service department integrated with the Rehabilitation Centre. Orthotists are fully supported by two technical staff and administrative support staff. The department operates Monday to Friday providing In-Patient and Out-Patient Services. It also receives referrals from the community in both Orthotic and Prosthetic disciplines.
This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health; in addition to a Pension Plan.

• Completion of recognized Orthotics Program.
• Certification in Orthotics from the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (CBCPO) and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics (CAPO).
