We are looking for a patient focused team player to fill our cardiac critical care float nursing opportunity we have within our expanding team here at Kelowna General Hospital. Our cardiac critical care float pool covers the CSICU and CCU.
Cardiac surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) is a 4 bed unit located in the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre at Kelowna General Hospital. The CSICU provides quality care to open heart cardiac surgery patients from across the Health Authority. Our CCU is a 6 bed unit that cares for critically ill MI’s, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, TAVI, EP, balloon pumps and preop cardiac surgery patients. Our department provides an exceptional professional environment for critical care nursing and our nurses have excellent clinical and communication skills, high commitment of professionalism and commitment as team players. Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Registered Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (Critical Care), one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment (such as CSICU, CCU, Cardiac Diagnostic Procedures or Cardiac Cath Lab) on a unit similar in size and scope to the facility, and as required by the practice environment successful completion of the recognized KGH Cardiac Course (such as Cardiac Surgery Advanced Theory or CCU); or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
