Position Summary

The Acute Health Service Administrator has primary responsibility for the delivery, management and performance of high quality and cost effective acute care health services for Kelowna General Hospital (KGH).
The population of the Central Okanagan region is approximately 187,000 and the primary acute care facility is Kelowna General Hospital (KGH). The Acute Health Service Administrator is responsible for the overall management and service delivery at KGH and is accountable for strategic planning and setting direction for Kelowna General Hospital in alignment with Interior Health Clinical Operations and the Ministry of Health. KGH is a 440 bed acute care & tertiary centre. The total operating budget of this portfolio is approximately $110.1 million with a staffing complement of approximately 1090 FTE.

The Acute Health Service Administrator is a member of the Acute Service KGH Leadership Team and reports to the Executive Director, Clinical Operations – Central Okanagan. The Leadership Team work in partnership and in an advisory role to the Executive Director in the planning and operations of services within the portfolio to meet the needs of residents within Interior Health.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a masters degree in health with at least 10 years of experience successfully leading large, complex, tertiary, health organizations.
