Interior Health is hiring a permanent full time CHIMA certified Supervisor for Health Information Processing at Royal Inland Hospital in beautiful Kamloops, BC.
This position is responsible for the direction, supervision, coordination, evaluation, planning and monitoring of the Health Information Processing Section in accordance with Interior Health HIM’s goals and directions. The Section Head, Health Information Processing, acts as an expert resource to the clerical section leading a staff of 13 through orientation, scheduling, performance management and QA on the charts.
We are seeking applicants who have a good knowledge of the flow of a health records department to ensure the charts are moved where they belong and all departments receive their paperwork on time.
Ideal candidates will have strong leadership and team building capabilities. This position requires the successful candidate to be fluid and responsive to change in a busy environment.
Royal Inland Hospital is one of two tertiary sites for Interior Health. It has an operating capacity of 217 acute beds and offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services.
Days of work are Monday to Friday (07:00 to 15:00 and 09:00 to 17:00 hours) with weekends and statutory holidays off.

Graduation from a recognized program for Health Information Practitioners.
Three years recent related experience including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certified by the Canadian College of Health Information Management as a certificant, and eligible for active membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association.
