Position Summary

Kamloops North Shore Health Sciences is hiring a casual Social Worker II to join its team. This position will be located on the 2nd floor and will focus on a complex chronic population within an interdisciplinary team.

Social Workers provide comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. They provide direct psychosocial care, counseling and group work, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management. Interior Health Social Workers are responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of identified populations.

Successful candidates will have a human caring and relationship-centred practice philosophy with ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Casual shift times are scheduled on an as-needed basis from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
• Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
• Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
• Current valid BC driver’s license.
