Apply today to join our Surgical High Observation unit in Kamloops. The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals. Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services The Surgical High Observation unit is part of the general 36 bed surgical unit at RIH. 4 beds offer care for high observation surgical patients while the remaining 32 beds provide care for general, urology, vascular and trauma surgical patients. The Registered Nurse practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. This is a relief full-time position until October 2021 or the return of the current incumbent. Nursing shifts are rotating days and nights, 07:30 to 19:30 or 19:30 to 07:30. Qualifications |
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Three years recent related experience in an acute surgical setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current CPR certification.
