Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is seeking a Registered Nurse with a Perioperative Certificate for its Ambulatory Care Unit.
Interior Health Regional and Tertiary Hospitals provide a range of Ambulatory Care Services and depending on the assigned clinical area within the Ambulatory Care Unit, the Nurse may be required to be competent in multiple clinical settings. Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is a tertiary hospital serving the Thompson/Cariboo/Shuswap region of Interior Health.
RIH's Ambulatory Care operates days from Monday to Friday. Minor surgeries, including Plastic Surgery, ENT are performed, as well as Minor Treatments, Urology, Gynecology, IV Therapy, and Endoscopy.

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
Completion of recognized post-basic education in perioperative nursing (including theory and practicum in scrub and circulating roles).
Two (2) years recent related ambulatory care experience which includes experience in minor surgical, oncology, and/or medical specialty clinics in an acute care facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Advanced education in either of the following certifications is an asset:
• Endoscopy - Certification in gastro intestinal (GI) Nursing and a minimum of two years recent, related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) - a minimum of 600 hours of demonstrated IV therapy experience over the past two years, successful completion of an approved course on PICC/Midline catheter insertion plus one year's recent related general duty nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
