Position Summary |
Interior Health’s Urgent Primary Care and Learning Centre (UPCLC) is inviting applications for the position of Primary Care Physiotherapist. If you are an Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy Physiotherapist with an evidence-based approach to practicing wanting to work in a medical team-based environment we would love to hear from you for our permanent, full time opening. The Primary Care Physiotherapist performs a variety of duties within the UPCLC such as conducting advanced orthopedic physiotherapy assessments; selecting and applying evidence-based interventions; and educating clients and caregivers regarding self-management, health promotion and injury/disability prevention including directing client to appropriate services in their community to provide ongoing care as needed. Additional duties performed include acting as a therapy resource; providing work direction instruction to the rehabilitation assistants; participating in quality improvement of programs; and participating in approved physiotherapy and interdisciplinary research and special projects. Days of work are rotating and shifts include varying Days. We offer an exceptional employer-paid benefits package including generous vacation entitlement after the first year of employment. Qualifications |
• Graduation from an approved program of Physical Therapy. • Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Physical Therapy. • Demonstrated post graduate education in orthopedic manual and manipulative therapy (minimum Level III (Part A or B an asset), or an equivalent education). • Minimum of three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. With a minimum of one (1) year experience in a direct access facility diagnosing acute/subacute musculoskeletal injuries. Interior Health now offers assistance from an Aboriginal Employment Advisor.
