Interior Health is seeking a Practice Leader, Recreation Therapy to join our team at South Hills Tertiary Psychiatric Rehab in Kamloops, BC. In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Practice Leader is responsible for the direction, supervision, coordination, evaluation, planning and monitoring of the therapeutic recreation program in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and directions. The Practice Leader acts as an expert clinical resource to staff and students working in the program.
In collaboration with the Manager, the Practice Leader directs the operation of the therapeutic recreation program. Provides input on budget initiatives, workload, strategic/tactical planning, labor relations, change management, client safety, project management and human resources management. The Practice Leader is responsible, in consultation with the key stakeholders, for interpreting and implementing all organizational regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to the therapeutic recreation program.
This is a permanent full time opportunity working rotating days, with shift times of 08:00 to 19:12, 09:30 to 20:42, and 09:30 to 17:30.

• Graduate of a recognized diploma or degree program in Recreational Therapy plus five (5) years recent related experience including supervisory experience in a Residential Care setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Eligible for professional membership with the B.C. Therapeutic Recreation Association (BCTRA)
• Current valid BC vehicle license
