Rehabilitation is underway at Interior Health’s Kamloops North Hills Care Centre.
North Hills Care Centre incorporates a Primary and Community Care Services Centre and Seniors Health and Wellness Centre in one and seniors are the greatest beneficiary of enhanced access to primary and community care in North Kamloops. Patients are referred by their family doctor, nurse practitioner, or specialist. An interprofessional team operates at the centre and consists of: a geriatrician, family physicians with a special interest in geriatrics, mental health clinicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, registered dietitian, rehabilitation assistants, speech and language pathologist, pharmacist, registered nurses, social workers, and a respiratory therapist provide specialized short-term care (four to eight weeks).
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist for a temporary part-time appointment until to the return of incumbent March 31, 2019. Days of work will vary between Week One (M to T) and Week Two (M to F): shift hours of work are 8:00 to 16:00 hours. This position also works approximately one weekend every 3 to 4 weeks.
In this role, the Therapist delivers a specialized care program for the complex and frail elderly patients who are referred to the Home Health Care team. As a member of the interdisciplinary team this role provides comprehensive geriatric assessment, intervention, treatment and follow-up care. The goal will be to improve Senior’s health by providing in-home care which will focus on independence, health promotion and connection within the community.
This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health; in addition to a Pension Plan.

• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Valid Driver’s License. As travel is involved within the City of Kamloops and surrounding area, access to a personal vehicle is required when an Interior Health fleet vehicle is unavailable.
