We are seeking a casual Occupational Therapist at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops. RIH is a tertiary referral hospital providing high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. RIH’s Occupational Therapy Department supports Acute care inpatients and outpatients, stroke unit, rehab unit, hand therapy program, and Acute mental health. Patient care with a team including Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Orthotics is a common practice. This position involves practicing in the Acute care, stroke unit and rehab unit of the hospital.
We are presently seeking applicants for on-call, short notice, and planned leave coverage for the Occupational Therapists working at Royal Inland Hospital. On-call shifts will be within the current schedule for this position and may include working Mondays through Fridays 08:00 to 16:00 hours.
Casual employment means there are no guarantee of hours and work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6 percent of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, Casual employees have the option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. - Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
- Valid BC Driver’s license.
