Position Summary |
This Nurse Practitioner's (NP) focus is older adult patients with sub - acute and complex chronic care needs who have been admitted to the Royal Inland Hospital's Hospitalist Program. In this position, the NP performs pertinent physical examinations and clinical evaluations, manages clinical care, performs procedures, orders and reviews diagnostic studies, orders and monitors medications, and participates in short-term and long-term planning of patient care. Joins with members of the inter-professional team in coordinating the transitions in care. A high level of autonomy is expected along with collaboration, consultation and referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team. Days of work will be rotating with hours 08:00 to 16:00 hours. No call attached to this position. Royal Inland Hospital, located in Kamloops, BC, is a tertiary referral hospital offering high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health. Qualifications |
• Current Nurse Practitioner registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) • Successful completion of the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination). • Two years Nurse Practitioner clinical experience. Recent acute care experience is an asset. • Strong general medicine/geriatric skills. |
