Do you consider yourself a seasoned, resilient psychiatric nurse? Interior Health is looking for casual Mental Health Nurses in Kamloops, BC. This is a nursing rotation through the South Hills Tertiary Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre campus: Hilltop House, Apple Lane Mental Health-Building 100 and Building 200. The shifts for these positions are Days, Nights and shift times rotate from: 07:50 to 20:00, 19:50 to 08:00.
Hillside is a relatively small site located in Kamloops, BC, highly specialized in mental health services designed for individuals with severe mental illness and who have not responded to treatment. It believes in and strongly supports research and evidenced-based practice. It supports a Multicultural workforce balance. This site offers three programs: Neuropsychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, and Geriatric Psychiatry. Staff education is integral to the success of our programs and education initiatives are provided to increase the knowledge and skills of all staff.
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides: nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team; enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers; demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice; maintains and advances own clinical competence; participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
• Two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and addictions environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
