We are presently accepting applications for a Team Leader, Home Support Services, based in Boundary and District Hospital. This is for on-call, short notice, and planned leave coverage for the current Team Leader Home Support Services, as well providing LPN wound care in Home Nursing Care. In addition, this role covers the Midway office where the successful candidate would be expected to cover the Midway Licensed Practical Nurse.
The Team Leader coordinates Home Support Services by supervising Community Care Licensed Practical Nurses (CCLPNs), Community Health Workers (CHWs) and other unregulated members of the team; overseeing the implementation of client care plans; providing training and evaluation of care provided by staff; and advocating for changes that improve client care.
In the clinical side of this role, the Team Leader collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, performs assessments, makes nursing diagnosis, implements and provides personal and nursing care for clients in a community health setting. The nursing care scope of practice is within the LPN Standards of Practice as outlined by College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia and within employer policies, procedures, limits and conditions.
Casual employment means there are no guarantee of hours and work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6 percent of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, Casual employees have the option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
On-call shifts could occur on any day of the week where hours of work will be 07:30 to 16:00 hours.

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses.
• Three (3) years of recent, related acute, residential or community care experience including one (1) year supervisory experience.
• Current, full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
• Current valid BC Driver’s License.
