Are you a nurse who likes new challenges, loves the outdoors and values work life balance? If so, then Elk Valley Regional Hospital in Fernie, BC is the place for you and we currently have a permanent part time opportunity for a Perioperative Nurse in our team.
There is one operating room suite and the hospital is a 20 acute bed site. Surgical services are scheduled 3 days and we handle procedures such as gynecology/OBS, C-Section, D & C, excision of ganglion, vasectomies, surface cancer excision, hernia repair and upper and lower GI scoping. Our hours of operation are weekdays with on-call overnight with the aim of 24/7 on call to support C-Section and Trauma coverage. Shift times for this permanent part time position are 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Thursday with an on-call component as required.
This position qualifies for a $10,000 Rural Recruitment and Retention Grant. Conditions apply as follows:
• The bonus is a taxable benefit.

• Available current Interior Health Casual RN employees who have not had regular employment status in the past year and would need to relocate outside their current work location/community to take advantage of this opportunity.

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
Advanced preparation in perioperative nursing and one year recent related clinical experience in a perioperative department of similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
