Interior Health Physiotherapists work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing physiotherapy services and guiding work direction to rehabilitation assistant(s). We have a relief, fulltime opening available. Regular days of work are Monday to Friday. This is a position that will provide temporary coverage until May 2022, or return of incumbent.
What will you work on?
This is primarily a Community Physiotherapist position working within dynamic team in the beautiful rural North Okanagan. Team consists of a Physiotherapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Rehabilitation Assistant and Community Nurses. Travel is involved (mileage is paid) within a radius of Enderby, Armstrong, Falkland, Mabel Lake and Grindrod, BC; no overnights are required. Typically two to four clients will be seen per day. Having a valid Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle is required. The role also includes facilitating a seniors’ therapeutic exercise program with the assistance of the Rehabilitation Assistant.
How will you create impact?
Allowing seniors and those with disabilities to remain in their homes by modifying the home, bringing in specialized equipment and providing exercising programs which can be carried out by the Rehabilitation Assistant.

Provide you with an orientation customized to meet your needs, and immediate support and access from excellent colleagues and the Physical Therapy Professional Practice Leader. Library Services to support patient care, education and research. Educational opportunities, such as iLearns, in-house services, project assignments, etc. Opportunity for rotation into permanent job experiences via the internal recruitment job postings.
Who are we looking for?
This position is suitable for a new grad or a seasoned therapist. We are seeking a Physiotherapist who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good people and communication skills. Ability to coach and educate clients. Willing to learn new skills. And comfortable driving distances to peoples’ homes in rural area.
