We are looking for a patient-centred, team player who has the ability to work interdependently in a Rehabilitation Assistant part-time position at Swan Valley Lodge.
This position is rotating days with shifts times 08:00 to 15:00 or 08:00 to 16:00 hours. Working one weekend per month is a requirement. This position offers 57 hours bi-weekly.
Swan Valley Lodge, located in Creston, embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. This facility is a 90 bed facility and includes a max of six respite/convalescent beds and a 23 bed dementia unit.
Under the clinical direction of the Therapist, the Rehabilitation Assistant functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the client. The Rehabilitation Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists the therapist in monitoring and evaluating patients/residents’ progression. In addition to supporting therapy with the short stay and long term care clients there is a tiny bit of outreach involved in this role.

Education, Training and Experience:
• Completion of a recognized, two-year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
• Valid Driver’s License as required.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
