Position Summary |
We are seeking reliable and motivated Medical Lab Assistants to join our cohesive Lab team within the friendly community of Creston, BC. The Creston Valley Hospital & Health Centre is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the East Kootenay health service area. Located in Creston, south east B.C. between Osoyoos and Cranbrook, the hospital offers services including surgical, inpatient and emergency. The Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of duties within the site, such as taking blood samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens within the Core Lab and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties. Performs ECG testing as required. Shifts available on a casual basis Monday to Friday during the hours of 07:00-16:00 Interior Health Laboratory are committed to staff development and encouraging growth. Qualifications |
Grade 12 Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Valid BC Driver’s License Ability to type 25 WPM *please upload a copy of an invigilated typing test dated within the last 48mths.
