Position Summary

We offer the opportunity to work within a small core lab with a welcoming group of MLT and MLA colleagues in addition to being part of the wider hospital team where you can live, work and play in this friendly and relaxed community close to the US and Alberta borders.

This is a permanent full-time position with scheduled day time and evening shifts and an on-call rota for out of hours coverage. Duties include routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.

• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
