An opportunity exists for a casual Rehabiliation Assistant to join the acute care team at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKH) in Cranbrook, BC.
The Therapy Assistant works with Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy in all areas of the hospital including Medical, Surgical, ER, ICU, Surgical Daycare and some work with outpatients. There is also potential to also pick up work in the community. Located in Cranbrook, between Kimberley and Fernie, EKH offers services including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, Level 3 laboratory, acute and obstetrical care. The facility is responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to patients throughout its service area.
This is a casual position which means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary between 0 and 37.5 hours per week. Once hired into a causal position, employees are able to apply internally on relief and permanent positions as they become vacant. Many rewarding careers begin with casual employment!
Working in accordance with the vision and values of the organization and under the clinical direction of a Therapist, the Therapy Assistant functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the patient. The Therapy Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists Therapists in monitoring and evaluating patients’ progression.

Education, Training and Experience:
Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
Valid Driver's License.
Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
