East Kootenay Regional Hospital's Mental Health Department provides services for adolescents, adults and psycho-geriatric patients in the East Kootenay region. Within the unit there are 10 bed inpatient unit and 2 seclusion rooms. The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides: nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team; enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers; demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice; maintains and advances own clinical competence; participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned. If you are an experienced Mental Health Nurse with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast paced environment working with patients with concurrent mental health and substance use challenges, we have the career for you. Shift types for this casual position are days, nights. Shift times rotate from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, 10:00 to 17:00, 10:00 to 18:00 Come live, work and play where others only vacation. Qualifications |
Graduation from an approved school of nursing and two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and addictions environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). |
