East Kootenay Regional Hospital's Mental Health Department provides services for adolescents, adults and psycho-geriatric patients in the East Kootenay region. Within the unit there are 10 bed inpatient unit and 2 seclusion rooms. The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides: nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team; enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers; demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice; maintains and advances own clinical competence; participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned. If you are an experienced Mental Health Nurse with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast paced environment working with patients with concurrent mental health and substance use challenges, we have the career for you. Qualifications |
Graduation from an approved school of nursing and two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and addictions environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). |
