East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook is a 77 bed regional referral centre, serving a catchment area of approximately 80,000 people in the East Kootenays. The 4 floor facility offers 24/7 emergency services with 16 beds, a brand new state of the art 6 bed ICU, a full range of medical and surgical services including Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, and Orthopedics. The Professional Practice Leader is responsible for the team of 6 Physiotherapists working in Inpatient Acute Care and Outpatient Services at EKRH as well as Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Assistants in acute, community and long term care throughout the East Kootenay region.
Working in accordance with established mission, vision and values of the organization, this position is accountable for the administration, supervision, planning and budgeting of the Physiotherapy departments. Reporting to the Allied Health Director on administrative matters this position is responsible for monitoring and managing budgets, workload, quality, labour relations and human resource issues. The incumbent is responsible for interpreting and implementing all organizational regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to Physiotherapy services in the East Kootenays.
Professional Leader Component:
This position provides leadership and representation for Physiotherapy Services in the East Kootenay area. The position is responsible for ensuring that standards for the Allied Health profession are consistent with regulatory/accrediting body standards and relevant legislation. The successful applicant is response for contributing to the development of the profession throughout the health authority via the practice council. This position is responsible for advising the Allied Health Director on professional practice issues and other matters regarding Physiotherapy services.

• Completion of a recognized degree from an accredited program in the assigned Allied Health profession.
• Recent five (5) years' clinical practice including a minimum of two (2) years’ Supervisory or Management experience in Physiotherapy Services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current Registration with the College or current Certification with the appropriate Association/Body for the assigned Allied Health profession/discipline as applicable.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
