If so, we would love to chat with you about a casual Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) position within our team at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC.
Our Psychiatric department is a 10 bed inpatient unit that includes 2 seclusion rooms. We have recently completed a department renovation with a focus on staff and patient safety. We have a very skilled and seasoned team that includes a team leader, 2 RNs working 12 hours shifts 24/7 with a 3rd RN on weekends from 1000-1700, a unit clerk and 4 Psychiatrists. We provide group activities and are implementing the PIECES philosophy.
The PCC is responsible for the coordination of day to day operations and quality patient care within a designated clinical area(s). This position supports the seamless movement of patients through the healthcare system and in accessing appropriate resources. The PCC supervises as well as serves as a role model and a resource to staff for clinical decision-making, clinical assessments of patients and in the counseling and education of families. The PCC also reviews, analyses and makes recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures and standards of patient care, adequate staffing levels, and a continuous quality improvement environment.

Education, Training and Experience:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area.
Three years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment and two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses’ of BC (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC).
Current CPR certification required.
